Chris Altizer is a retired HR executive turned yoga teacher, writer, and executive coach who brings mindfulness and movement together to help others live and lead with greater awareness. He and his wife, Anne, completed their RYT 200 certification in Bali, Indonesia, after more than fifteen years of practicing and teaching karate alongside their two sons—a foundation that continues to influence Chris's approach to mindful discipline and strength.
In 2017, Chris discovered Aerial Yoga and quickly fell in love with the practice, teaching twice a week at Ayama Yoga in North Miami before relocating to Lakewood Ranch and joining The Yoga Barre community in 2024. His classes combine curiosity, compassion, and calm—inviting students to explore their practice with patience and playfulness.
Chris is a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher through UC San Diego and is certified in Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness through the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation. He has also completed Reiki Level III training and serves on faculty in Florida International University's Graduate College of Business, where he integrates mindfulness into leadership education.
Drawing from his diverse background in corporate leadership, martial arts, mindfulness, and yoga, Chris offers a teaching style that emphasizes presence, perspective, and balance—both on and off the mat.
Join Chris at The Yoga Barre LWR for Aerial and Mindfulness-based yoga classes that blend strength, compassion, and awareness for mind-body harmony.
